Wed 3 Apr 2019

Last Sunday Artsreach brought extraordinary physical circus to the Corn Exchange in Blandford, enthralling the audience of adults and children alike.

“It’s great to have world class performances in town - more please!” said one audience member.

“You don't very often see a Chinese pole in Blandford!” said another.

Compania D’Click from North-East Spain have toured their show ‘Isla’ around the world and it’s received numerous awards. When they brought it to the Corn Exchange in Blandford on the 31 March, the audience included the Chairman of Arts Council England South West, Helen Birchenough who tweeted she was:

“Enchanted and thrilled by the Artsreach show ‘Isla’ in Blandford Forum”.

The following day D’Click led a workshop at The Blandford School, where fourteen Year Ten students ended up doing all sorts of balancing that at the start they were sure they’d never achieve. Head of Performing and Creative Arts, Lucy Bowerman-Elllis, said:

“The students who took part really enjoyed themselves and I thought the company were great with them, especially considering the language barrier. It really is great to be able to offer the students these experiences.”
