Performing Arts Student Enjoys Artsreach Work Experience
Thu 19 Jul 2018
Earlier this month we were pleased to be able to give 16-year-old performing arts student Rosie Musk the opportunity to gain some work experience at one of our Artsreach events.
Rosie was welcomed to The Exchange in Sturminster Newton on Wednesday 4th July to enjoy Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s powerful performance of George Eliot’s classic novel The Mill on the Floss. Rosie got to learn about all aspects of working within the rural touring and performing arts industry; from helping to run the event with The Exchange team to gaining an insight into how the company worked behind-the-scenes!
Here’s what Rosie got up to:
“I had the wonderful opportunity to come along and help out at The Exchange on the night of an absolutely breathtaking performance of 'The Mill on the Floss' by Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (run by Artsreach). I was lucky enough to be offered the chance to help out at the front desk, handing out programmes and inviting attendees into the theatre, along with fellow lovely ladies working at The Exchange. I also had the greatest pleasure of observing the actors warm up and set up stage as they prepared for the show which was an incredible experience for an aspiring actress such as myself! I am extremely grateful for Artsreach to offer me the opportunity of gaining more experience within the theatre industry and I would hugely recommend attending future events and productions run by the organisation.”
