The Six Wives of Henry V111

Two Actors. Too Many Characters. One Big Ego

Howard Coggins looks like Henry VIII. There's no escaping that.

Stu McLoughlin doesn't really look like any of the wives, but he's going to give it a go.
After their previous self-funded two-man historical drama is savaged in the press, Howard (Bristol Old Vic) and Stu (Kneehigh) are at their wits end. Then they hit upon an idea for a show that could change everything... but can two of the South West's favourite theatrical sons put aside their differences and make it through to the end without killing each other?
The Six Wives of Henry VIII was an undisputed hit when it first toured with Artsreach in 2013, and with live original music, embroidery, barbie dolls, silly songs and historical hysteria, this still promises to be an ill-researched lesson in cross-dressing Tudor history that you'll never forget.

"The Six Wives of Henry VIII' is a storming, surprising and sassy night out. The music is as cool as the wives are hot and, amidst the sharp dialogue, witty characters, deft theatricality and bloody fascinating history, I was genuinely moved. Cracking storytelling and a top night out."

Attending a Live Performance

We are thrilled to be back with some live performances in our village halls once more!

To keep you safe, we will be seating households and support bubbles at a social distance for the performance, in line with government regulations. Please make sure that your booking is for your household/support bubble only, maximum of 6. If you want to book for someone else who isn’t in your household/social bubble, that’s fine - just book for your household and then book their tickets as a new transaction, or encourage your them to book directly.

Please be aware that those aged 11+ are required to wear a mask at all times within village halls/community spaces.

You can read a copy of all the safety measures we have in plce before completing your ticket purchase. We ask that you respect the social distancing measures in place at all times and thank you for supporting this tour.

Watching the Show Online

Alongside these live performances, we are excited to be working with Pageant Productions to offer you the opportunity to see a recording of this show online at the end of the tour - a real first for Artsreach!

Booking is required to access this online event, and to support this new venture we encourage online viewers to make a donation - the show will be available to view online for one night only. Only one e-ticket is required per household.

After booking you'll receive a link to access the event, which will 'go live' on Sunday 18 October at 8pm. Your household will be able to enjoy the performance on your computer/tablet/smartphone/internet device, and you'll also receive full instructions on how to view.

Given the reduced capacities in our venues, we hope this enables as many of you as possible to enjoy the show!
