This event is part of 'My Creative Life', a project designed to change the way adult day care is delivered in Dorset

My Creative Life is a project funded by Dorset Council and Arts Council England to inform people of creative activities in the community for adults with learning difficulties, young men with mental health issues and older people suffering from isolation and loneliness and/or living with dementia.

If successful, the project could be rolled out across the whole of Dorset with bookable, creative activities, available to be purchased using direct payments, personal budgets, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or even self-funded. GP’s could also refer patients to take part in local creative activities to help overcome loneliness, grief or depression – this is known as social prescribing.

The project is being delivered by The Arts Development Company with partners Artsreach, Dorset History Centre, Dorset County Museum and Dorset Libraries.

This particular event is free and aimed at older people suffering from isolation and loneliness and adults with learning disabilities.

Calling all budding detectives! Your crime-solving expertise is required for there has been a murder so dastardly it will make your blood run cold. Prepare to travel to the barren landscape of Antarctica, where you play detective. You’ll interrogate the suspects and attempt to unmask a murder with your fellow audience member. Can you solve the mystery of famous explorer Albert Ross’s icy death?...

Artsreach has teamed up with Sharp Teeth Theatre to bring this unique show, played out on Zoom, to audiences in Dorset. Packed with dramatic twists and turns that unfold online, the fun theatrical experience invites the audience to help solve the case by turning detective, whilst pitting their wits against some of the UK’s most talented improvisers.

Murder on Ice captures the liveness of being in an audience by asking viewers to interact with the fellow detectives via Zoom. Ideal for fans of improv and comedy, the show provides the perfect way for people to don their deerstalkers and come together for an afternoon of sleuth-filled entertainment! Fancy dress is optional but welcomed, so stock up on snacks and refreshments and prepare to solve the case together...
