"A streetwise panache and a sardonic comic verve to rival Stewart Lee."
The Telegraph
Fun and filthy poems from someone who knows what they're doing...
Luke Wright is back with a sticky-floored celebration of the ordinary. The acclaimed poet conjures up a world of Tuesday lunchtimes and small town boozers in poems that burst with inventive language. Wright's poems are full of audacious rhymes, insane sonic trickery, and big-hearted storytelling that'll leave you feeling a little lightheaded. Expect loads of laughs, a few more coins in the swear jar, and a sore head in the morning.
Luke Wright started performing poetry at the age of seventeen, supporting his teenage hero John Cooper Clarke. Twenty-six years on he's made fifteen solo shows, toured all over the world and is a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4. He's just signed a major new book deal with Little, Brown for 2026 and he still finds time to guest with his old pal Clarkey.
