All Fired Up

All Fired Up was a touring exhbition exploring the diversity in Ceramic and Glass art.

15 May - 4 July 1999

Over the years a resurgence of interest in crafts saw a growth in status for ceramics and glass, amongst other disciplines, and never before have artists been so experimental and inventive in their use of different materials and techniques. All Fired Up aimed to explore the diversity in ceramic and glass art, with contemporary sculptural and functional work from thirteen nationally acclaimed artists forming a touring exhibition. The exhibition illustrated the exquisite properties of glass, with its transulcency and ability to be shaped into a fragile form, and featured ceramics which were both tactile and often flamboyant in design.

Toured to: Fontmell Magna, West Stafford, Ansty, Shillingstone, Frampton, Halstock, Bourton and Whitechurch Canonicorum.

Workshops included: Raku firing, stained glass, pottery and medieval tile making.
