Artsreach is a registered charity which aims to make a positive difference to the lives of people living in rural Dorset, addressing rural and social isolation; developing skills and supporting health and wellbeing by providing the opportunity to participate in and engage with cultural activity in the heart of rural communities.  

Artsreach is the most active of many rural touring schemes in England with a diverse and comprehensive performance programme. Now it is looking to consolidate its highly successful offer, by diversifying and growing its income and initiating new projects to complement its well-established performance programme. This role is an exciting opportunity to innovate by identifying and achieving new income streams.

THE ROLE

The Business Development Officer will work with the Artsreach team to identify and initiate income-generating activity to support the organisation, including securing funds for existing delivery; development of core work to generate additional income; identifying new opportunities and collaborations while maintaining and nurturing existing relationships with donors, funders and sponsors; supporting development of income generating projects and bids to grant-making trusts, statutory bodies, other charities and foundations, and corporate and business sponsors.

This is a business development position for a proactive, confident individual skilled in cultivating supporters and advocates. The role is suitable for an enterprising, assured person, willing to take initiatives and determinedly to see them through. The successful candidate will demonstrate qualities of vision, perseverance and positivity together with strong instincts for collaboration and networking.

This new role is a fixed-term (12 month), part-time contract, with a view to extending the role if successful. Responsibilities, key priorities and terms and conditions can be viewed within the full Job Description below.
