It is well documented that music can remind people with dementia of past experiences and enable them to better communicate and connect. However, accessing an evening concert can prove particularly challenging for those living with dementia.
Cake Concerts cater to the needs of those people living with dementia. A trio of BSO musicians perform a selection of works on flute, harp and cello, from popular classical hits to light film music, whilst audiences enjoy tea and a slice of cake.
All are welcome, whether living in the community or care & residential homes. These events have a profound effect on movement and communication amongst audience members, creating a positive shared experience for all who attend. Tickets include tea and cake!
